Dying a terrycloth bathrobe?

I have a beautiful Turkish bathrobe that I received as a birthday present about 2 years ago. It's white and I've noticed after use it's getting slightly discolored, as white always does!. I want to dye it. What is the best way to do this without ruining it? I hear rit dye is not what I should use. suggestions?
