Should I keep the kit lens or but the body and a better lens?

Nikon D90 comes with 18-105mm VR lens, but I am thinking of just buying the body and buying 18-200 mm DX VR lens. Is this wise? should I keep the kit lens and then wait for sometime and buy the telephoto lens?
