What is wrong with my min pin?

My min pin had a small piece of our pitt bulls rawhide the neighbor gave her night before last ..she was fine all that evening but yesterday on & off throughout the day she would hack as if she were trying to get something up.. She is eating fine and very active. I can not afford to go to the vet unless it is absolutely necessary..
