Sup. I have a question about roping?

I have been roping for oh about 6 months. Not team roping but just roping. My horse edger a 3 year old QH/selle francais. He is the bomb no kidding. I won 15 ropeings. Thing is he's been limping every since he took a tumble out on the last run. I gave him 2 weeks off called the vet he came out said he was fine and I could ride again. The limp has sorta gone away. But we have a problem coming out of the chute. He always wants to go go go. So I try to hold him back by kicking him then he just rears. I know your not supposed to kick a horse while your trying to hold it back it only wants to go more. But anyway we fixed that. We had trouble getting him used to the rope as well. I would just rope and rope off of him to try and get him used to it and so he did. Then he bucked me off and I was like "What the hell edger!". We soon fixed his bucking problem. Then he tried to trample me. I was like okay. And we fixed that problem. There are no problems with him yet that we know off. So how do we keep from having problems?
